Equipping our people with the right skills to carry out their tasks is of paramount importance to us and we offer a comprehensive training and development programme.
For our lawyers we have a well-established lecture schedule in which partners and solicitors participate, presenting to the firm on a regular basis on relevant topics. External speakers from the worlds of both law and industry also contribute. Practically focused workshops on specific topics take place regularly while departmental and working group lunches provide an opportunity for staying abreast with current developments and for the sharing of legal knowhow within the firm.
We develop an individual training plan for each trainee. We try to assign work to our trainees that is commensurate with their ability and competency and accordingly the level of responsibility and complexity of the work assigned tends to increase as experience is gained. As well as attending lectures, workshops and presentations in the firm's general training programmes, the trainee programme also covers other skills needed in a legal environment including soft skills (presentation, communication, negotiation), legal research skills and technology training.
For our support staff, who through their varied roles enable our firm to provide top class legal services, we provide training in the latest technologies in use in the firm, health and safety and specialist training in line with their particular needs and field of work.
