Please note that the Summer internship programme is our main source of trainee recruitment.

Our record in the recruitment of graduates suggests that we are the firm of choice for those with ambitions to work in Ireland's most significant business, financing, litigation, and property and construction transactions.

From the hundreds of graduates who apply to us each year for traineeships, we choose people who show strong character, good interpersonal skills, sound judgement and excellent analytical and reasoning skills. These will be combined with natural ability, real enthusiasm and a capacity to contribute to a team endeavour. When we take on trainees, we look to the future and to continuing success of the firm. We commit to developing and supporting our trainees in the best possible environment, working alongside our most accomplished lawyers, many of whom joined as graduates and are now widely respected experts.

Trainees generally spend a period in each of our main departments - Banking & Financial Services, Corporate, Dispute Resolution & Litigation and Property (encompassing Commercial Property, Construction and Private Client). During these departmental assignments, the trainees work with, and are fully supervised and mentored by a partner or senior solicitor who will assist them to develop essential skills as well as ensuring that they feel integrated and are attuned to the firm's culture and values. There are also opportunities for our trainees and qualified professionals to spend periods in our London and Brussels offices.

We try to ensure that the work being done by our trainees is challenging. We do not see trainees as a resource to handle tasks for which a legal training is not required. We employ non-legally trained people to deal with document delivery, bulk photocopying, office filing and similar tasks. We ensure that our trainees receive regular feedback and reviews throughout their training period. We also encourage them to broaden their skills by supporting their attendance at extra-curricular courses, some of which lead to further qualifications.

Chosen because we believe our trainees will be the future partners of the firm, our philosophy is to focus on the individual and develop a tailored training schedule for each person. Under our training and professional development programme, which combines legal knowledge, soft skills and technology training of the highest quality, we can develop and support new graduates in the best possible environment.

We place a considerable emphasis on continuous investment in resources to ensure that all of our trainees are supported by state-of-the-art technology and legal knowhow systems.
