Darragh is a partner in the firm’s Banking & Financial Services Group, specialising in regulatory matters. In particular, he advises on regulatory and commercial matters relevant to financial services businesses, including investment management operations, fund promoters, insurance and banking entities. His clients include some of the most significant investment managers, insurance/reinsurance undertakings and banks operating in or from Ireland. He also advises the Irish treasury divisions of multi-national entities.
Darragh has advised on all aspects of the carrying on of investment services in Ireland with particular experience in relation to applicable requirements under the European Communities (Markets in Financial Instruments) Regulations 2007 (as well as those that previously applied under the Investment Intermediaries Act 1995). He is very familiar with the requirements applicable to changes of ownership of regulated MiFID firms and credit institutions.
