| Thinking Outside the Box in Dispute Resolution, August 2008 | The growing importance of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in Ireland has been recognised in the Law Reform Commission's recent Consultation Paper on the topic. The Commission proposes a statutory foundation for mediation and conciliation and the greater integration of ADR within litigation and public administration. The Commission's provisional recommendations are likely to shape the future of ADR in Ireland and will stimulate further the welcome growth of this effective and efficient means of resolving many disputes in a wide range of private, public and commercial relationships.
