McCann FitzGerald advised Irish Life Investment Managers Limited (ILIM) on the establishment of the "Irish Infrastructure Trust" and obtained regulatory authorisation for this vehicle, as a Qualifying Investor Fund, from the Central Bank of Ireland.
The Irish Infrastructure Trust is a significant new investment fund which will invest in state assets which are being sold by the Irish Government and also in new infrastructure projects in Ireland. ILIM is seeking up to €1 billion of investment into the Fund from institutional investors. The National Pension Reserve Fund (NPRF) has committed to investing a quarter of a billion euro in the Fund and other investment commitments of €50 million have also been received. AMP Capital - the global manager headquartered in Sydney, Australia - will act as specialist investment manager to the Fund.
